Pregnancy Chiropractic at Always in Motion Chiropractic
Prenatal, Antenatal, and Postnatal Care for Pregnancy
Getting adjusted during pregnancy is the best thing you can do for your baby and yourself. We are often asked, “So now that I’m pregnant, is it still ok for me to get adjusted?” And the answer is a big yes! Getting adjusted is one of the best things you can do to support healthy fetal growth and development. Additionally, women who receive chiropractic care during pregnancy typically report greater comfort, less pain, shorter labor times, and a quicker recovery postpartum. What If I’m having trouble getting or staying pregnant?
This is more common than you think. Know that you are not alone and that we are here to listen and to help. Understandably, this can be very frustrating. Many people feel shame or embarrassment bringing up issues with fertility or miscarriage, but talking about it is the only way we can help you and gain a greater understanding of your personal history.
Is infertility just a woman’s problem?
No, infertility is not always a woman’s problem. Both men and women can contribute to issues of infertility. Overall, one-third of infertility cases are caused by male reproductive issues, one-third by female reproductive issues, and one-third by both male and female reproductive issues (according to the CDC). In order to get a full history we recommend that both partners come in to talk about their health history. One of the first questions we ask is how are you tracking your cycle and have you been taking your prenatals, but many factors can contribute to Infertility Including:
- Age
- Weight (being both overweight or underweight)
- Smoking
- Drug Use (including medications)
- Stress
- Diet
- Inconsistent or Absent Period
- PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome)
- Endometriosis
